~My Lily Lee~

I love my niece SO much, but she hasn't always loved me. I know...sad. For some reason Lily would be happy, laughing, and playing with everyone in my family but as soon as I would walk in the room she would look at me and yell "NO!". She also would make the meanest faces at me when I would smile at her or try to give her kisses. It was the weirdest thing but everyone thought it was so funny and told me that it is karma...I guess when I was a baby I would bite and hit people when they would try to hug or kiss me, unless of course it was my mom or Grandma. So I guess I deserved this but it still made me sad. Well things have changed recently...Lily loves me and gives me kisses!! There's the picture to prove it. Sometimes she forgets that she likes me now and it will take her a second to warm up to me but after only a couple "NO!"s and dirty looks she's my little girl again and I love it. :)

...I mean seriously, is she not the cutest little girl you've ever seen?!

brace face

So I've had quite a few people bugging me to put a picture of my braces up. I'm a little hestitant because I'm super self-conscious about how I look, but I figure everyone reading my blog is friend or family and you will still love me or at least see me in person soon anyway right?? well here ya go...

ok ok...enough of this embarassment.

Oh Danny boy...

Last night I watched American Idol and once again I was amazed by Danny's performance and I had to rewind it like 3 times. From the very first night of Hollywood week I chose Danny Gokey as my favorite and predicted that he was going to win. Don't believe me? Just ask Elder Peterson...I wrote him on that first night and told him that Danny Gokey is going to be the next American Idol. He probably thinks I'm crazy and doesn't care about American Idol but I needed to write it down so I could have proof because when I was bragging about how I chose Melissa to be the final girl on the Bachelor I had some family members who rolled their eyes and didn't believe me. Anyways...Danny. He's the best and every week I vote for him like 50 times. This is the first year I've actually voted because this is the first year that every single contestant is SO good. My second favorite contestant is Matt Geraud, he's pretty good and I could see myself buying an album of his. Adam Lambert??...um no thanks, I'm not a fan. Here's one of my favorite performances of his (ignore the huge ugly jacket, I don't know what he was thinking)...

3 months down, 21 to go...

As of yesterday, April 14th, Elder Peterson has been out for three months. He's 1/8 of the way done! (he figured that out, not me) He's doing so great and I couldn't be more proud of him. Landry is already such a great missionary..of course. Alabama sounds like a crazy place with all the red necks, tornadoes, and the unpredictable weather but it also seems beautiful with all the sweet people he's meeting and the gorgeous sunsets! I must say, I do miss my best friend quite a bit but I wouldn't have it any other way. With every letter he sends I see more strength and faith in him. He is such a good example to me and his faith strengthens my testimony. He is always sending me helpful scriptures or quotes and giving me good advice. The thing he tells me the most is to remember to always say my prayers because they will always work, so the most recent quote he sent me is "when life gets too hard to stand, kneel". He wasn't sure who said it but I love it. Thanks Brad and Kathy for raising such an amazing son.

Here's my countdown chart again with my countdown tape measure too! The tape measure is from my Grandma. It's 24 inches long and for every month he's gone I color in another inch. She sent it with a note that said "By the yard it's hard, by the inch it's a sinch"...so clever.

We love you Elder Peterson!

Happy Easter

Yay for Easter! Today was a great day...I woke up to a basket full of candy and little surprises from the Easter bunny, went to church and sat through a great sacrament meeting, then got to teach the sweetest 4/5 year old primary children in the world, chatted with Derek, Lindsey, Nixon and Miles on Skype (greatest invention ever!), had a delicious family Easter dinner, and ended the night hanging out with my family and playing with my adorable niece. It couldn't have been more perfect. I hope everyone else had a good Easter too! :) Here's some pictures of my fun day...
Rex and Nina with our Easter baskets

...I love my sis

My mom went all out with this dinner...it was so yummy!

My messy little bunny...I just can't get enough of her.

p.s. The next time most of you see me I will have some metal on my teeth. That's right...I'm getting braces tomorrow! I'm really nervous so try not to make too much fun of me. :)

Where Dreams Come True...

A while ago I went with most of my family to Disneyland... it was one of the funnest vacations I have ever been on. A trip to Disneyland is ALWAYS good news but I must admit that I was a little sad because I thought it wouldn't be as fun without Joel, Derek and Brooke aaand I thought wouldn't have anyone to hang out with since Hayley was bringing a friend, Rex and Nina would be sticking together, and we were meeting up with a family in our ward who has kids that are the ages of Hayley, Rex, and Nina...leaving me out AGAIN. But, if it wasn't for the Larkins this trip wouldn't have been half as amazing as it turned out to be. To make a super long story short, Todd and Levi Larkin were on the right ride, in the right seat, at the right time and won an over-night stay in a Disneyland dream suite (which is an AMAZING suite right above the Pirates of the Carribean ride), fast passes to all the rides, and thier own parade down Main Street. Since we were traveling with them we got to be a part of all of the fun too! That's right...I got to be in a Disneyland parade!! I am still such a kid when it comes to Disneyland. As soon as I walk through those gates I start to act like a 5 year old girl and all I want to do is find the princesses and pretend to be Sleeping Beauty. So being in a fancy car, driving down main street, waving at tons of cheering people, and wearing my fuschia crown was an absolute dream come true for me. I know this all might sound a little crazy to some of you but if you really know me you can understand why this was one of the happiest weekends of my life. I can't wait for the day I get to take my little kids there...I'll probably be more excited then them!
