Guilty.

I haven't blogged in far too long. Sorry. My life has completely changed since I moved to Provo. This blog was good to me for a long time, but it's time for a new one...

Question...

I know I'm a little late but just answer me this...If you had to decide between the following, which would you choose?...

- Chocolate or mud?

- Flowers or Grenades?

- Good health or STD's?

- Warmth and sunshine or blizzards and gloomy clouds?

- A sweet playful puppy or a possum with rabies?

- A swim in a warm, clear ocean with beautiful fish and coral or a swim in cold, scary, dark, shark infested waters?

- Eating a delicious feast or starving to death?

- A sweet, loving, complimentary spouse or a dirty, untrustworthy, abusive spouse?

- A super cute, fit body or a flabby, over weight, cottage cheesey body?

- Happiness or depression?

- Life or death?

or

...the decision was a no-brainer Jake.

One more blonde, Mormon girl for Provo...

That's right, I am now living in Provo, Utah...the coldest place on earth. Why did I leave beautiful 70 degree weather for this?! I literally thought I was going to freeze to death this morning when I had to go out to my car, before the sun had completely risen, and scrape the ice off of all my windows. It took a good 10 minutes and gave my arms the first work out they've had in months. Maybe an 8am class wasn't such a good idea. People here are crazy...or maybe I'm the crazy one, you tell me. If it's 28 degrees outside would you wear a short sleeve dress with a light sweater and open toed shoes to church? Or would you wear tights, a long sleeve shirt, a sweater, and a jacket? This climate change might just be the death of me.

On the plus side, UVU is all indoors. I can get to all my classes without ever having to bundle up. I'm also taking a few dance classes..which makes me really happy. Buuut my schedule makes it so I have to go back and forth from one end of the campus to the other. I have a feeling people are going to get sick of seeing me come into class all out of breath and gross in my sweats. Speaking of sweats...It's my first day and I've already gotten 2 comments on my UNLV sweatshirt. One lame guy said "Hey...I think you're supporting the wrong school! It's all about UVU."...I just pretended like I didn't hear him and kept walking. Another guy stopped me to ask if UNLV really pays people to study and go to school instead of partying. Wow. My Rebel pride may result in annoying questions, comments, and looks but don't worry Las Vegas...I won't ever give it up.

The best thing about Provo is living 5 minutes from Brooke. I've only been here a few days and I love being able to see her whenever I want. It's also nice to finally live in the same city as most of the cousins my age. I'm going to be having a lot of family time while I'm here...wonderful. :) I keep hearing this is going to be such a good experience for me and that I can have a lot of fun if I have the right attitude, so that's what I'm going to do. I'm just going to be happy, make some fun girl friends, spend time with family, and embrace the cold? I'll stop venting now. Pray for me.

p.s. What is the deal with these big, thick, super wide, knitted headbands/half hats with flowers?? EVERYONE is wearing them. I would understand if girls used them to keep their ears warm but no, they just wear them as an accessory. Hmm...I just don't get it.

(this picture isn't a very good example because her ears are actually covered...but it's the only picture I could find that shows the wierd "half hat" look)

I ♥ NY

As you can probably tell from my joy in this picture, Thanksgiving in New York was a dream come true. I've always wanted to be there for the Macey's Thanksgiving Day parade, pretty Christmas lights, and for boot/jacket weather to see all the cute styles...it was everything I had hoped for. We did so many fun things while we were there but I must say that the best part of my Thanksgiving week, by far, was just getting to spend time with my whole family. I'm the happiest when I'm with them and couldn't be more grateful to be a part of the Nelson family.

Rex Daniel Nelson...my favorite little brother.

I love my little brother so much. He is definitely crazy and sometimes annoying but he is the sweetest little boy you'll ever meet...I promise. He is so protective of his sisters and always wants big hugs from us. A few weeks ago we were sitting in church and I was freezing cold. I didn't have my dad there to keep me warm so I just started rubbing my arms and I leaned over to Rex and said "Gosh it's so cold in here." Right then Rex said "Oh here Paigiee take my jacket." I told him it was okay but he insisted and I ended up wearing my little brother's jacket for all of sacrament meeting. (He offered to let me take it for the rest of church but I wouldn't take it) Isn't that the sweetest thing ever?? Seriously, what little 11 year old boy cares more about his sister than himself that he gives her his jacket in an ice cold church? Rex does. That's just one of the many stories of him being a gentleman. Well I decided to devote a whole post to him because he just became M.J. Christensen student body president and we're so excited for him!! I can't believe how big he is now..thinking about it just kills me. After the first day of school this year he came home and told me and my mom that the best thing about 5th grade is that there are actually "hot girls" in his class and no one is immature about cooties and stuff. I about died when he said this because I have NEVER heard him talk about girls before. I said "Rex I hope you don't think that you can start liking girls now. Don't even think about kissing a girl or getting a girlfriend until you're home from your mission. Actually no...I probably won't even be okay it then. If you bring a girl over I'm going to be mean to her." (Yeah I know...I can be a brat sometimes). Rex just said "Paaaige I'm not ever going to kiss a girl...come on." and my mom just laughed and said "He's growing up Paige. Next year he'll be 12 and passing the sacrament and in junior high and whether you like it or not he'll be liking girls." When my mom said this I just looked at Rex and started crying. Yes I cried like a little baby while saying "I don't want him to grow up. He's just going to be my little sweet brother forever." Of course Rex just came and comforted me with a huge hug and said "It's okay Paigiee...I'll still be your little brother even when I'm married." It made me cry even harder. I know, I know this sounds like a movie or something but he really is just that sweet. My mom was totally inspired when she decided to name him after my amazing Grandpa. I'm so grateful that I have this angel as my little brother...I don't know what I would do with out him.

I love you Rexy Boy.

3.0.0.

Today is Elder Peterson's 300th day in the mission field! 300!! As in 65 days until it's a year. This is a big deal. I can't wait for the next 300 days to go by. :)

Oh and check out his new bandana. Me and Andrea made it for him...it's blue and green tye dye. He looks really cool...I knew he would.

Disneyland 2009

This year's trip to Disneyland was extra special because it was Lily's 1st time! Naturally, she loved everything...especially seeing the princesses, and we just loved being with her. It was a super fun trip. :)

It was a long walk from our hotel so dad took the opportunity to teach his girls how to hitch ride...stick our your thumb and show some leg. Thanks dad I'll never forget that.

Cutest family in the whole park.

Pirates of the Caribbean

This is Lily's new little fake smile she loves to pull for pictures. She cracks me up!

N for Nelson. Mom, Rex and Nina all went to Disneyland for a week in September with my aunt and cousins so they stayed home while we all got a turn.

Dad helped his girl's out again by keeping Brooke's purse under his shirt on the wet rafting ride in California Adventure. He looked pregnant but he didn't mind...thanks again dad.

I ♥ my dad.

Yay for Disneyland! I can't wait to go again. :)

If you are/were a Michael Jackson fan go see this movie!!...simply amazing.
